The demo, and what happened to it
The demo is no longer on Steam: it came down on 3 August 2026 after four windows, the last of them Steam Next Fest. Around 100,000 players had claimed it by the end of Next Fest.
The short answer
There was a demo, it is no longer on Steam, and the searches for it have not stopped. Valve's store page for the full game does not list a demo any more; the last official word from the developer was on 3 August 2026, when they took it down.
If you are here because you played the demo and want help with a room in it, the opening chapters of the full game are the closest thing we can point you at that is actually documented: Chapter 1 and Chapter 2. We are not going to claim the demo's contents were identical to those chapters, because we cannot source that.

What the developer actually said about it
The demo had an unusually long life, in four stages, all announced on the game's own Steam news feed:
| Date | What happened |
|---|---|
| April 2026 | First release, alongside The Triple-i Initiative showcase |
| April | First window closed; the developer said one week was not enough and brought it back |
| Mid-2026 | Returned for Steam Next Fest, with fixes and performance work from the first window's feedback |
| August 2026 | Kept up "for a little while longer", then taken down on 3 August |
Two numbers from those posts, both the developer's own: around 45,000 players in the first Triple-i window, and 100,000 who had claimed the demo by the end of Steam Next Fest.
The demo had its own app on Steam, separate from the full game, and its own patch notes — version 0.9.1 — which is a reminder that demo bugs and launch bugs are two different lists.
What we can and cannot tell you about its contents
The developer described the demo as "some of the puzzles and challenges" and referred to "the final puzzle of the demo" without naming the room. That is the whole of what is on the record.
So: we know it was a slice, we know it ended on a puzzle rather than a cutscene, and we do not know which room the slice stopped at. Anyone stating the demo covered exactly chapters one to three, or exactly the first sector, is going beyond what the announcements say. We would rather tell you that than invent a boundary you then plan your evening around.
If you are deciding whether to buy after playing it
Three things worth knowing, all verifiable on the store page rather than from us:
- Both players need their own copy. There is no friend pass and no second-copy discount.
- The full campaign runs about fifteen hours at two players, split across seven chapters, and the completion percentages in the achievements suggest most pairs slow down hard in Chapter 4.
- Progress from the demo did not carry into the full game as far as anything on the record says. If you are starting fresh, the beginner guide covers the setup that actually matters — microphone, settings, and who reads and who presses.
Where this was checked
The Steam store listing for the full game (no demo attached, price and release date read on 25 October 2026) and the game's own Steam news feed, which carries all four demo announcements with their dates and the two player-count figures. Nothing on this page comes from a third-party summary.
